Environmental Engineer Job Description:This is an opportunity to learn the "ins and outs" of environmental safety and compliance at a nuclear fuel manufacturing facility. The individual will report to the site Environmental Protection Manager. Your Day to Day:

  • Work closely with an environmental engineer
  • Review/update regulatory documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with audits, inspections, sample collection and other regulatory-required tasks related to stormwater, groundwater, hazardous waste, etc.
  • Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance personnel
  • Assist with analysis and trending of environmental performance data
  • Support environmental tasks related to sustainability, permitting, reporting and data management
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
  • Pursuing or completed Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Completion of Sophomore year college by May 2024
What you need to be successful in this role:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with front-line workers, engineers and regulators
Gain experience in state and federal regulations such as:
  • Clean Water Act and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
  • Clean Air Act
  • Risk Management Program
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act
  • Spill Prevention, Countermeasures and Controls Program
  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
  • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act
  • Nuclear Regulatory Commission
  • ISO 14001, Environmental Management System
