This includes defining and improving maintenance and equipment standards, processes, specifications, and other technical data necessary to meet cost efficient and effective manufacturing requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day-to day operation, maintenance and repair for all building systems and equipment. This includes manufacturing equipment, critical facility systems; i.e. plant air and fire, electrical systems, plumbing, light construction, custodial, OSV groundskeeping, and snow removal crews.
- Ensures Maintenance and Facilities team members follow company policies, procedures, work instructions, documented systems, and regulatory requirements; including but not limited to all safety, health and environmental regulations and requirements.
- Interviews, hires, trains, plans, assigns, and directs work. Appraises performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints & resolving problems. Monitors work in progress to ensure that delays are minimal, and the quality of the work is acceptable
- Implements plans to develop subordinates and improve the technical skill level of the maintenance and facilities team
- Maintains a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety, and human resource related performance objectives
- Ensures all safety training and certifications are up to date
- Receives feedback from maintenance and facilities team and communicates problems and improvement opportunities to Operations Manager and affected departments.
- Assigns team members to preventative maintenance and total preventative maintenance activities.
- Delegates, assigns, and schedules projects for maintenance and facility team members.
- Ensure maintenance and facilities team members are entering daily entries for completed work into L2L system, performing daily 5's, and other administrative daily duties.
- Requests, schedules, and oversees the activities of various contractors working throughout the facility
- Occasionally validates inventory levels and orders parts when necessary.
- Provide and/or facilitate on the-job (OJT) training to others within the group. Direct team members in the operation of
- the various processes and equipment.
- Direct as-needed in critical set-ups, quality checks, production order, equipment trouble shooting and maintenance resolution for process equipment and tooling.
- High school diploma / General Education Degree (GED)
- Technical degree preferred
- At least five years of directly related experience in the department area and three years supervisory in role
- Significant experience in a position maintaining process equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities systems.
- Familiarity with Hazardous waste storge, building and fire system codes.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Basic knowledge of precision measuring instruments and shop math.
