Your Day-to-Day:
Engineer will be responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, in particular for Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA Engineer).Additional Responsibilities:
- Development and assessment of models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- Use of statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and/or development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, 50.46 reporting
- Point of contact for plant-specific LOCA specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Participate on project teams
- Communicate to responsible project manager nature and status of work projects
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear or Chemical); Please note, other engineering displines will Not be considered for this position.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
- Concise and effective written and verbal skills
- Ability to independently establish and implement personal goals and action plans
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate a variety of issues: project status, problem resolution, engineering recommendations, etc.
