New Plant DCIS InternJob Responsibilities:In this position, the New Plant DCIS Intern can expect to be responsible for assisting with the design of non-safety Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for the nuclear power generation industry. The individual in this position will work as a member of the New Plant DCIS team and will be responsible for a variety of functions and will learn more about instrumentation and control best practices and technologies. This is an entry level position and work will be performed under the guidance and mentorship of other engineers. Candidates in this position will be expected to:

  • Prepare technical calculations and specifications to support the design and implementation of the DCS
  • Implement control logic and HMI displays in accordance with the specified design
  • Create and revise cabinet configuration drawings and related sub-assembly drawings
  • Assist in the selection and specification of DCS components in accordance with system requirements
  • Monitor vendor performance during procurement, assembly and test.
  • Perform equivalency evaluations for spare and replacement parts
  • Follow project policies and procedures
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation including product configuration/implementation guides, requirements documentation, test plans, test procedures, test reports, and user administration guides
  • Support information sharing and collection of lessons learned amongst the organization
  • Support site installation and testing
Education: Technical Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Computer) or similar Experience/Requirements:
  • Prior experience is not necessary
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques
  • Prior professional experience in engineering is beneficial
  • Prior experience with common PLC, Scada, DCS platforms is beneficial
  • Experience in industrial environments is beneficial
  • Must have completed sophmore year by 2024
  • Miniumum 3.0 GPA
