If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer. Relocation Assistance will not be available for this position. Your Day-to-Day:
- Perform calculations and evaluations related to temperatures, pressures, flow rates, resistances, and other mechanical and thermal hydraulic properties of fluid systems and auxiliary equipment in power plants. These calculations and evaluations will be thoroughly documented and reviewed, and detailed reports based on those calculations will also be developed. The engineer may also engage in both procurement and design activities. Interactions with other engineers, other groups, other portfolios, and with external customers will also be important. Use of Human Performance tools during execution of work is a must. Some hands-on work related to small pieces of equipment or performance of fluid systems and equipment testing may also be involved.
- Work on teams that support the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of power plant equipment and/or systems.
- Support the development of advanced nuclear power plant designs
- Help prepare reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and/or contract requirements
- Interface with engineers in different departments and global work locations; integrating with other engineering teams
- Collaborate with peers and mentors to resolve technical issues throughout the product life-cycle
- Unwavering Commitment to integrity.
- Bachelor of Science in in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- A strong motivation to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering licensure (PE).
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop. High personal investment in your development, both in terms of technical knowledge as well as leadership.
- A capability to embrace work in a highly diverse environment, with team members from different cultures and experiences in integrated global teams, respecting and leveraging each professional contribution
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience working in team environments is critical.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, a desire to learn, and dedication to producing quality work.
- Candidate must be legally allowed to perform work in the United States related to the nuclear power industry.
