DNJP19059 – ELECTRICAL/I&C DESIGN ENGINEER SME (NUCLEAR) – Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Horseheads, New York - 5 MONTHS (Part-time)

ReNuke Services is seeking a Part-Time Electrical/I&C Design Engineer Subject Matter Expert for our client’s nuclear site in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Horseheads, New York!

Description:
*Part time position*
Will be the client’s representative at a vendor’s fabrication facilities in Monroeville, Pennsylvania and Horseheads, New York. Contract worker needs to live within driving distance of these two facilities.
Make periodic visits to two facilities to validate progress with the fabricator’s schedule. Visits, once on site at the vendor’s facilities, are expected to be 2-3 hours in duration each at the facility. Additional visits to be determined based on unexpected vendor results. Exact dates of the visits are not yet defined but contract worker to be aligned to support a work day window from 8am-5pm work day Monday through Friday. Date ranges below to be adjusted based on vendor’s adherence to the baseline schedule. Visits can be periodically adjusted to align with the CW’s schedule.

2. Oversight in early Oct 2024 in Horseheads, NY
3. Oversight at 30% completion in early Jan 2025 in Monroeville, PA
4. Oversight in early March 2025 in Horseheads, NY
5. Oversight at 50% completion in early March 2025 in Monroeville, PA
6. Oversight in early June 2025 in Horseheads, NY
7. Oversight at 75% completion in early July 2025 in Monroeville, PA
8. Oversight at 90% completion in early Sept 2025 in Monroeville, PA

CW (Contract Worker) will communicate with the home site team by email, Teams software and smart phone (text/photos). Home team will brief the CW prior to each visit on the expected status of the production process. The CW will physically witness the current fabrication status (including completed production inventory) and report back to the home team if the as-found condition of the fabrication process aligns with the expected conditions per the briefing. CW is not performing a quality control function but a production schedule validation function. CW also will report on the cleanliness of the fabrication process (housekeeping) and general personnel safety of the facility.
Currently no overnight accommodations or air travel compensation expected.

Minimum expectation of the candidates: Experience with analog electronics and controls at [a] an electronics / controls fabrication facility or [b] an energy production facility or [c] technical sales of power industry components requiring an understanding of analog electronics and controls.
15 years discipline experience and unique SME skills.

Desire candidate to have: BS degree in Electrical Engineering or lead industrial technician with multiple years’ experience with analog electronics / controls.

Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with even greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is increasingly complex and varied.
