1stShift Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Melrose Park, IL.

OVERVIEW:

The position is responsible for mechanical repairs and maintenance of industrial machines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly. Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Record repairs and maintenance performed.
Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of related experience.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical failures on large/heavy industrial machinery (paint lines, punch presses, roll-forming machines) in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Solid understanding of safe work practice and OSHA requirements.
Must be comfortable working at heights.
Bilingual Spanish/English.
Able to work in a non climate-controlled plant. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter.
