The Mechanical Engineer will provide design oversight for multi-million-dollar power generation facilities and other industrial projects. Through expertise in mechanical design, specification development, equipment installation, and troubleshooting, the Mechanical Engineer will help maximize production efficiencies while minimizing the construction and commissioning cycle.
Position Description:
The Mechanical Engineer will oversee mechanical design efforts performed by the Engineer of Record (EOR), who provides piping design, specifications, calculations, and engineering solutions for the project. Working closely with the Project Engineering Manager (PEM), the Mechanical Engineer will ensure all designs meet contract requirements and align with standards for efficiency and constructability.
Frequent trips to office during design phases and longer visits to the job site during construction and commissioning phases will be required. The role also involves attending vendor meetings as needed.
The Mechanical Engineer will support project development during the proposal phase by contributing technical documentation in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Requirements:
Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Relevant experience in design and engineering for power plants or industrial facilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Highly organized, capable of meeting deadlines, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
Skilled problem-solver with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
