We are working with an oil and gas contractor who is hiring an experienced Field Engineer to support a greenfield generation power plant project in Ohio.

Job Description
The Field Engineer will work on-site at natural gas compressor station projects. These industrial plants ensure the natural gas remains pressurized as it travels through a pipeline by using compressor stations where gas is compressed either by a turbine, motor, or engine. The role involves working across all disciplines on-site, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping work.
Responsibilities
� Maintain and promote a strong safety culture
� Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects
� Understand terms, conditions, and scope of the contract
� Track materials, production, and project costs for Project Manager review and approval
� Assist in facilitating subcontractor activities
� Maintain project schedule
� Perform basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes
� Provide onsite administrative support
� Assist with quality assurance/quality control and test protocols
Essential Skills
� 3+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or similar role in Heavy Industrial or Power Plant projects
� Experience working for the Owner, EPC, or GC on these projects
� Experience overseeing subcontractors within Electrical and Mechanical disciplines (heavily preferred), civil, and process piping
� Strong communication skills
� Experience reading prints and using project management software
� Ability to be away from home on a project site for weeks at a time (rotating home every 4-6 weeks)
� Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications
� Experience in construction management, industrial, mechanical, electrical, and power plant projects
� Knowledge of turbines and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems
� Strong hands-on training program available
� Opportunity to move into a Project Manager role after 5+ years
Work Environment
The work environment involves working on-site at natural gas compressor stations, with projects located primarily in Ohio. The projects are multi-year in duration, with typical work hours being 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. The company has a strong training program and new engineers will be partnered with Project Managers. Benefits include a per diem rate for travel, bonus eligibility, vacation and holiday time, a truck allowance, cell phone allowance, provided equipment, and a 401k match. The team typically consists of 2-3 Project Engineers per site, with additional support from CM/Quality/Safety personnel and occasional site visits from the Project Manager.
