Title:                   QA/QC Field Representative
Position Type:    Contract 
Location:            Utah
Reports to:         Construction Oversight Manager
Status:               Non-Exempt

Key Project Requirements:
•    Extensive QA/QC Experience – Must have 10+ years of quality oversight in active construction projects, ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
•    Power Generation & Electrical Construction Knowledge – Prior experience in HVDC, power generation, or large-scale electrical infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
•    Strong Communication & Documentation – Ability to liaise between owners, contractors, and consultants, while maintaining detailed inspection records and reporting project quality issues.

Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Construction Quality Oversight Representative who will support an active brownfield construction and commissioning project in California.  The Field Construction Quality Oversight Representative reports directly to the Site Superintendent and plays a key role in the successful execution of the construction of a HVDC Converter station project. The Field Construction Quality Oversight Representative will be primarily focused on monitoring construction activities on site, as well as serve as the primary point of contact for all quality related items on site between owner and contractors. The Field Construction Quality Oversight Representative will be required to monitor construction activity to ensure that work meets or exceeds technical drawings, specification and client standards, as well as witness testing and perform inspections.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Ensure the successful and timely completion of the project construction. 
•    Ensure that all work performed is within the specified standard and specifications. 
•    Ensure that all work is being performed safely and in accordance with the site safety program.  Provide construction oversight, monitoring of work performed by the construction contractors on site
•    Maintain regular communication and coordinate project activities with other field staff as needed.
•    Monitor project activities, avoiding risk and impact to the project.
•    Utilize all appropriate construction and commissioning safety protocol at all times.
•    Educate project personnel, as well as offer corrective action, when protocol is not being adhered to.
•    Regularly provide the required reports to management personnel
•    Maintain accurate record keeping to ensure all measurables are being tracked and watched.

Job Requirements:
•    Solid understanding of Owner, Consultant, Contractor communication. 
•    Ability to coordinate with other field staff. 
•    OSHA 10 certification required with a familiarity with field construction safety. 
•    Strong understanding of safety controls, work authorizations that are used by contractors, material testing and construction inspections. 
•    Strong verbal and written communication. 
•    Significant English skills to compose correspondence, develop project documents, proofread documents and effectively communicate with supervisors, engineers, clients and other applicable staff. 
•    Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings etc. 
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Physical Requirements:
•    Be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
•    Be able to climb ladders up and down multiple times a day
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
•    Must be able to tolerate noise typical of a construction site.
•    Must wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Education / Experience:
•    Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
•    10+ years of experience working in an active construction project
•    10+ years of experience in a QA/QC field capacity role.
