Electrical E&I Superintendent (Data Centers)
Location: Ankeny, Iowa (with Travel Required)
Per Diem, Mobilization & Demobilization Provided
Position Overview:
The Electrical E&I Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the electrical and instrumentation field operations on mission-critical data center projects. The role includes managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining schedules, and supervising the installation of electrical systems and equipment. The position requires travel to various project sites, including locations in Des Moines, Virginia, Omaha, and Texas, with a contract duration of 12+ months and the possibility of permanent hire.
Key Responsibilities:
� Supervise and manage electrical and instrumentation installation for mission-critical data center projects, including raceways, cable trays, electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, and low/medium voltage equipment.
� Ensure subcontractors comply with contractual obligations and schedule.
� Conduct and oversee system testing, including instrumentation calibration, loop checks, point-to-point checks, and electrical control testing.
� Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.
� Maintain safety standards by reviewing and auditing site safety documentation (e.g., Pre-Task Analysis and Task Safety Observations).
� Lead and manage daily field construction activities, ensuring compliance with project scope, drawings, and specifications.
� Track and verify project progress through daily reports, photos, and quality control processes.
� Oversee material deliveries and ensure correct storage and handling.
� Verify the qualifications of site welders and ensure compliance with project standards.
� Coordinate system walkdowns, testing, and punch list creation to ensure all systems are installed to specification.
� Supervise craft personnel and subcontractors to ensure efficient work progress and compliance.
� Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and safety protocols.
� Read, interpret, and understand isometric, structural, and P&ID drawings.
� Provide leadership and manage day-to-day operations of the project site, ensuring project goals are met.
Qualifications:
� Education & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree and 7 years of construction management or craft supervision experience on electrical projects OR
o Associate degree and 9 years of construction management or craft supervision experience OR
o High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of construction management or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
� Minimum 7�10 years of experience in data centers and 15-20 years of experience in the construction industry.
� Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems for mission-critical data centers.
� Proven experience managing teams of 10�20 people.
� Excellent communication, leadership, and safety management skills.
� Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
� Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including isometric, structural, and P&ID drawings.
� Must meet company driving requirements.
Additional Information:
� Travel required to various project sites (Des Moines, Virginia, Omaha, Texas).
� Per Diem, Mobilization & Demobilization offered.
� Contract duration is 12+ months with potential for permanent hire.
