Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Engineer–Systems Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site.

Work Location: Aiken, SC (50% onsite/50% remote)

Senior Engineer-Systems Engineer-

Duties:

Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems.
Begin using systems and meeting requirements with minimal supervisory guidance.
Accepts complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionals.
Incorporate conventional engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals.
Carry out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problems.
Develop alternate solutions to existing problems.
Perform all detailed work necessary to determine best solutions.
Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignment.

Education:
In applicable science or engineering discipline entry level PhD degree, MS degree with two-four (2-4) years’ experience; or BS and five to ten (5-10) years’ experience.

Experience/Skills:
Understands and applies advanced knowledge of discipline's standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques; has working knowledge of standard engineering/scientific practices and applications.
Fifteen (15) or more years’ experience in engineering related positions, including a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience on DOE projects.
Must demonstrate experience participating in systems engineering teams, with responsibilities including engineering program, plan, and procedure development, value engineering studies, and requirements & assumptions tracking.
Able to work independently and within a multi-discipline team.

Preferred Qualifications:
Possessed active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
Prior SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures.

Other Job Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. (an active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
