Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Piping Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
Position Overview:
Provide CNS Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat3 facilities.
Responsibilities:
� Provide design output documentation to support major facility modifications, minor facility modifications, and/or Project Engineering. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
� Ability to develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
� Develop construction specifications for piping systems with various materials and requirements.
� Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
� Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable. Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
� Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Qualifications:
� ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience or
� MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience.
� Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one.
� United States Citizenship required.
