Job Summary:  
PIC Group is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning of a greenfield 300MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) peaker plant in Texas. Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, the Lead Electrical Commissioning Technician will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning, testing, and startup of all electrical systems to ensure they meet operational, safety, and compliance standards. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with electrical systems in power generation projects and a proven ability to manage and execute complex commissioning activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols at the project site.
•    Oversee adherence to Quality Assurance/Quality Control protocols throughout the commissioning process.
•    Develop, review, and approve electrical commissioning procedures to meet project requirements and standards.
•    Coordinate with construction personnel to ensure timely completion of assigned areas and systems, facilitating seamless handover for commissioning.
•    Assist the construction team with pre-commissioning activities, ensuring readiness for commissioning and startup phases.
•    Generate and maintain accurate records of testing, commissioning, and startup activities, including logs, reports, and turnover documentation.
•    Monitor project performance to meet schedule, budget, and financial targets, while proactively addressing potential delays or challenges.
•    Track and resolve issues affecting electrical commissioning and startup, promptly communicating impacts to project goals and objectives.
•    Provide direction and training to operations staff during the initial startup of plant electrical systems, ensuring a smooth transition to ongoing operations.
•    Collaborate with the Startup Construction Superintendent to plan, communicate, and execute craft support for commissioning activities.

Job Requirements:
•    Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical system designs, operational principles, and maintenance requirements.
•    Hands-on experience with electrical commissioning and operational procedures, preferably in power generation projects.
•    Knowledge of OSHA requirements, including safety protocols relevant to construction projects.
•    Strong understanding of electrical checkout, testing procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols.
•    Proven track record of successful commissioning and startup performance across multiple power projects.
•    Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multitasking environments while maintaining attention to detail.
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:
•    Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
•    The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.) may be required.

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or GED is required, supplemented by specialized training in power plant instrument operation and maintenance is preferred.
•    Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Technology Certification preferred, not required.
•    OSHA-10 or 30 Hour training preferred
•    10+ year’s electrical commissioning & startup experience on similar construction projects
