Title:                  Instrumentation & Controls Commissioning Lead

Job Summary:  
PIC Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Commissioning Lead to support the commissioning of a greenfield 300MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) peaker plant in Texas. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the I&C Commissioning Lead is responsible for ensuring the proper installation, setup, testing, and calibration of all plant instrumentation and control systems. This role plays a critical part in verifying that all equipment meets project specifications, operational standards, and safety requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Perform instrumentation check out and control verification activities including loop check verification, calibration of equipment, systems, and facilities.  
•    Operates electronic instrumentation and related electro-mechanical or electro-hydraulic apparatus used in the operations and control of electrical power plant generating equipment according to engineering data, characteristics of equipment in use, and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.
•    Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of control and test apparatus and peripheral equipment. 
•    Operates apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate, and record effects of actual or simulated conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration. 
•    Analyzes and converts test data to usable form and prepares reports to translate test results.
•    Helps plan and implement test programs. 
•    Complete other tasks as requested by the Commissioning Manager.

Job Requirements:
•    Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 
•    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
•    Ability and willingness to work well with others and be self-directed with respect to assigned responsibilities is required. 
•    Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics, P&ID, and control system logic diagrams is required. 
•    Proficient in the use of hand and power-driven tools.
•    Ability to apply creative solutions to unique I&C problems is desirable.
•    Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:
•    Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•    The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.) may be required.

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or GED is required, supplemented by specialized training in power plant instrument operation and maintenance is preferred.
•    Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program and a minimum of 2 year’s work experience as a technician in a related industry is desirable.
•    4+ year’s experience in commissioning in a related industry may be accepted in lieu of the above requirement.
