Location: Jackson, MI 49201 (Onsite/Field)

The Sr. Civil Engineer will be required to travel to construction projects on average 1 day per week and as much as 5 days a week

Summary:

Within HVD group at CMS, responsible for civil/structural design work for substations and other HVD assets
CMS has considerable investment for the future so more projects/growth coming in
Economic developments around the states where they need more distribution as well as reliability improvements to their own grid
Be the SME in civil/structural engineering to support project teams
Will represent the civil/structural discipline
Help with engineering support and engineer reviews and be the central POC for related issues
Has a couple engineers and bunch of designers for in-house work
This role is NOT doing design work
Third party engineer group handles design and this role basically reviews to make sure everything follows standards and design parameters
Supports entire lower peninsula of Michigan
Project size $2M-40M – 4-10 projects at a time maybe 1-2 of larger and some smaller ones

Experience:

Michigan registered PE required
Need to have deep knowledge of Civil/Structural but can be a little lighter on the substation specific side
6mo-1 year of heavy utility/substation exp
