Job Summary:
PIC has a great opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Manager to support a Data Center project in Austin, TX. The Commissioning Manager reports directly to the Project Manager and will develop and maintain a coordinated approach towards project planning and project management. The Commissioning Manager is required to oversee, monitor, and control all commissioning, startup, testing and turn over to the Owner’s Commissioning Agent. The Commissioning Manager will ensure all work is performed in conformance with the project objectives and requirements, which is in accordance with our client’s Commissioning Plan of Record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the staffing, scheduling, quality, safety, close out and coordination of all commissioning activities.
• Enforce corporate safety practices within the project commissioning team, including subcontractors and equipment vendors, ensuring commitment to outstanding occupational health, safety, and environmental performance on site.
• Ensure that the projects goals, objectives, priorities and decisions are documented and communicated to all commissioning stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved.
• Develop, manage, and maintain commissioning resources to meet the goals and objectives of the project.
• Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel internal and external to the project.
• Demonstrated capability of managing multiple tasks at once.
• Proven computer skills to generate reports and related project requirements.
Job Requirements:
• Working knowledge of critical facility systems design as well as operating and maintenance principles.
• Extensive experience with commissioning principles to include pre-commissioning requirements, commissioning requirements, verification testing requirements, and performance testing requirements.
• Prior work experience in both mechanical and electrical distribution and control system design and operating principles.
• Proficiency with OSHA requirements such as Lockout / Tagout, Arc Flash Hazard Requirements (NFPA 70E) and Fuel Gas Piping System Requirements (NFPA 56).
• Demonstrated successful performance as Commissioning Manager of multiple mission critical projects
• Proficient with use of Microsoft Office products to include Access, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook as well as any commercial Automated Commissioning Management Systems (ACMS) or Microsoft’s proprietary ACMS “Compass”.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to walk, climb ladders, and lift objects for an extended period of time.
• Must be familiar with sounds typically found in an active construction project.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Education / Experience:
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree/Certification strongly preferred.
• 10+ years Commissioning Management experience on similar projects.
