Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Computing Systems Technician 2 opportunity in Los Alamos, NM at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required
Work Location: This is a Telework position
Candidate MUST RESIDE within 2 hours of LANL for periodic site work and will still be required to go onsite as needed and for random drug testing.
Schedule: 9/80 A schedule
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain “Q” clearance and HRP.
Description:
Provides day-to-day technical support services, locally or remotely, to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop, or mobile systems, workstations, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
Tests and evaluates commercial and laboratory-developed software for quality control and proper operation. Maintains passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Please note: This position begins with our ICE division Service Desk group in a teleworking capacity. Within the first or second year, the role will transition to an onsite Field Team position to enhance ICE division support services and advance the selected candidates' career.
Education
The position requires a high school diploma and one-to-two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
