Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Rail Traffic Engineer for a contract opportunity in Irvine, CA, San Diego, CA, or Los Angeles, CA

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic individual with a Professional Engineer (PE) license and preferably a Traffic Engineer (TE) certification, along with substantial experience in the railway industry, particularly in heavy rail and high-speed rail environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage traffic engineering projects for rail infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, design, and optimize rail traffic systems and operations.
Conduct traffic impact studies, capacity analysis, and operational assessments to support rail projects.
Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and designs using AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
Provide technical expertise in traffic signal design, rail crossing safety, and traffic management systems.
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and alignment with project goals.
Other duties assigned or required to meet the business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Traffic Engineer (TE) certification preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in rail engineering or traffic engineering, with a strong background in heavy rail and high-speed rail projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation software for drafting and design.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid office and remote environment.
