Title: Construction Manager
Location: Virginia
Duration: 1 year to start, with potential extensions
Start date: ASAP

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees construction activities and ensures the project goals and objectives are met within given timelines while maintaining a safe job site utilizing OSHA standards and plant rules.
Daily communication of project construction and safety metrics.
Responsible for the on-site safety of all contractor personnel and ensuring they are properly trained and competent in hazard recognition.
Oversees material and equipment procurement and coordination, and small system civil, structural, and mechanical designs for “field engineered” solutions.
Field supervision of construction work; ensures compliance with company drawings and specifications, and good construction practices. Inspects construction work quality and reports findings back to Project Manager.
Participates in weekly construction coordination meetings to communicate plant events that affect construction work
Ability to recognize and communicate scheduling setbacks to project management in a timely manner
Monitors resources and materials needed between construction and plant maintenance
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

10+ years of Construction Management experience.
Excellent communication skills are a must. Applicant will be communicating with a Project Manager.
Experience with project management/scheduling.
Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
Experience with construction practices and principles.
