Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an excellent growth opportunity for a Power Plant Maintenance Technician with a Los Angeles Steam Engineer License w/ Turbine endorsement to support a Cogeneration facility in Wilmington, CA. The Power Plant Maintenance Technician will work directly with Site Supervisors and the Plant Manager to ensure the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation of the company’s facilities. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and overhauling power generation machinery, assisting with plant operations and project improvements, and supporting overall safety and compliance efforts at the facility.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Troubleshoot, maintain, and overhaul all machinery commonly found in power generation plants.
•    Assist with planning and coordinating facility outages.
•    Coordinate and supervise subcontracted activities.
•    Support in maintaining a comprehensive maintenance program, including periodic, predictive, and proactive measures to minimize corrective maintenance and overall maintenance costs.
•    Promote personnel safety and environmental compliance among plant staff in accordance with applicable standards and practices.
•    Contribute to the development of new projects and improvements to existing facilities.
•    Assist in developing annual plant budgets, training plans, and profit-improvement projects.
•    Maintain a detailed understanding of facility design features and provide oversight for design changes and modifications.
•    Assist plant managers in identifying and resolving technical issues.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
•    Extensive experience in the use of personal computers and various software applications.
•    Ability to work well independently and as part of a plant staff team.
•    Willingness to travel to different projects as required.
•    Ability to respond quickly to plant conditions or requirements, which may involve extended or abnormal work hours.
•    Must hold a City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer License w/ Turbine endorsement

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or equivalent.   
•    10+ years of experience in electrical generation engineering, with at least 5 years in electrical generation plants utilizing modern control systems (DCS).
•    City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer License w/ Turbine endorsement required (non-negotiable)

Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $55-$65.
