NAES Staffing Services is looking for Control Room Operators to work in Nevada, TX on a 6-month contract position. This position pays $50/hr plus per diem ($166 daily) and looking for someone to start ASAP. The facility is a gas fired power station, operating of at least 126-megawatts. Summary
Rely on area of certified expertise and experience to safely and efficiently operate and maintain critical plant equipment for electric power generating units at the Electric Power Plants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1) Furnish technical coaching, training, and/or technical direction to less experienced Technicians.
2) Start or shut down generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, turbines, and other power plant equipment, and connect or disconnect equipment from circuits.
3) Adjust boiler and turbine controls to generate specified electrical power, or to regulate the flow of power between generating stations and substations.
4) Control and maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water heaters, filters, and chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, and auxiliary power.
5) Record and compile critical operating data, completing and maintaining forms, logs, and reports, data collection of plant water chemistry parameters, and proactively identify plant equipment deficiencies.
6) Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment such as generators, turbines, pumps, and compressors in order to prevent equipment failure or deterioration.
7) Take readings from charts, meters and gauges at established intervals, and take corrective steps as necessary. Manipulate plant valves and switches in accordance to established procedures and processes.
8) Assist in the development of operation procedures for plant equipment.
9) Support the plant-wide safety culture and the target-zero accident initiative and promptly report any equipment deficiencies to Plant Leadership; support unit operations requests made by the Operations Supervisor and respond to unit maintenance requests.
10) Work with Operations Supervisors to prioritize work requests/ work orders in the CMMS. Effectively utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to enter work requests regarding equipment deficiencies ensure that assigned area is free of debris and trip hazards.;
11) Maintain positive working relationships and adhere to plant-wide planning process.

Minimum Qualifications

 Two years in a fossil-fuel power generation plant or four years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting.
 Level II GP&L Production Operations and Maintenance qualification.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
 Power generating unit operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
 Demonstrated knowledge of operational excellence practices.
