Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for an Auxiliary Operator at a 2x1 Combined Cycle Generating Facility located in Brandywine, Maryland. As an Auxiliary Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of plant equipment. Key duties include reading gauges, using monitoring tools, and adjusting equipment to meet operational parameters. The Auxiliary Operator will also assist with maintenance tasks, repairs, and system upgrades, all while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves contributing to the development of operational procedures, training materials, and maintaining accurate plant records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Perform complex technical support duties, making decisions on escalated technical issues.
•    Ensure operations meet contractual, safe, and reliable standards.
•    Operate equipment during routine, abnormal, and emergency situations.
•    Perform plant maintenance and upkeep, including chemical analysis and operation of Auxiliary equipment.
•    Create and maintain reports and documentation.

Job Requirements:
•    Experience working with hazardous chemicals, machinery repair, and control systems.
•    Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot.
•    Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•    Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Adhere strictly to safety and environmental procedures.
•    Work on a rotating shift schedule and be on call as needed.
•    Complete all required training within specified timelines.

Physical Requirements:
•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift 50 lbs., and work at heights.
•    Visual and auditory ability to perceive plant conditions and hazards.
•    Must wear appropriate PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, etc.
•    The job is mainly performed inside the power plant but may involve working in various weather conditions. 
•    The environment contains noise, equipment, and materials where focused attention is crucial to prevent injuries.

Education / Experience:
•    High School Diploma or equivalent: preferred AA degree or trade school certification.
•    5+ years of experience as a plant operator, understanding safety and environmental regulations.
•    Valid U.S. Driver’s license with an acceptable MVR history.
