System One is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer, Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with our client based out of Naperville, IL or Atlanta, GA. This role is open to a remote or hybrid work model, with a preference for local candidates open to a hybrid work schedule.

Nuclear industry experience is required.

Responsibilities:

- Lead engineering teams, manage resources, and oversee complex tasks within projects, ensuring coordination and alignment with priorities.
- Define project scope, allocate staff, and provide technical leadership for design, execution, and long-term planning.
- Analyze performance specifications, recommend design solutions, and optimize mechanical/electromechanical systems.
- Provide expert advice on design processes, construction methods, and technical solutions to meet client needs, engaging in technical discussions and resolving project issues.
- Mentor junior engineers, guiding design development and professional growth, while approving schedules and recommending resources.
- Occasional travel to client locations for plant walk downs, interface with clients and to make presentations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
- 10+ years relevant work experience in commercial nuclear mechanical design and design modification experience.
- 2+ years of direct leadership experience on commercial nuclear engineering projects.
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
- Knowledge and implementation of client Engineering Change Control - process of nuclear power generation utilities is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards.
