Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an excellent growth opportunity for an experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to manage large scale construction at a college university in Florida.  The Senior Construction Superintendent reports directly to the Regional VP of Operations, and is directly responsible for the direct oversight of the building process, to include management of all project scheduling, as well as coordinating and supervising craft employee activities in one or more trade groups such as electricians, boilermakers, and carpenters, and disciplines that include civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical.  The Senior Construction Superintendent should have a passion for building, lead by example, and strive to deliver a project on time and at budget expectations.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendent on larger projects, and on smaller projects craft activities that include determining the method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities for equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
•    Coordinate assigned work to align with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
•    Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
•    Assist in resolving construction problems that include lack of productivity or work interfaces as required.
•    Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, and requisitioning required manpower, as necessary and applicable to the labor approach for the projects assigned.
•    Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented. 
•    Maintain liaison with other departments such as Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and project schedule. Titles by discipline may include Construction Superintendent for civil work, Structural Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent and Electrical Superintendent.
•    May be responsible for managing all field aspects of a small project, with home office support.

Job Requirements:
•    Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
•    Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups.
•    Prior experience with Commercial project scopes with scopes of $30M value or more
•    Prior hands on experience with higher education projects.
•    Project assignments that may require extended long term temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites. 
•    In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units involved throughout the commissioning process. 
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required at all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the company. 
•    Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines professionally.

Education / Experience:
•    High school diploma or equivalent.     
•    8+ years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required.
