Job Opportunity: Industrial HVAC Technician (Traveling)
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of large-scale HVAC systems and be comfortable working with critical infrastructure. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to act as the primary point of contact for HVAC-related projects.
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial-grade HVAC systems, including large capacity chillers, chilled water piping, Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), and Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Interface with HVAC control systems and perform necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance
- Serve as the single point of contact for the HVAC portion of assigned projects, coordinating with other team members and stakeholders
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and implement effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and service calls
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HVAC codes and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in HVAC technology preferred
- 5+ years of experience in industrial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
- Extensive knowledge of large capacity chillers, chilled water piping, VAVs, CRAHs, and AHUs
- Strong proficiency in HVAC control systems and interfaces
- Experience supporting critical infrastructure is highly desired but not required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- EPA certification and any relevant state licenses
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to various locations, including northern and southern Virginia, Milwaukee, Chicago, Phoenix, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Washington State.
- Travel schedule typically consists of 3 weeks on-site followed by 1 week working from home.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures
