Description:
Construction Manager/Project Manager level experienced individual interested in a Construction Support role for the Generation Interconnection Program. This role will provide construction support as outlined below as well as continuously look for growth opportunities to expand the construction support responsibilities and services.
Duties/Tasks:
Perform regular site visits to active construction sites to observe ongoing construction activities and note any general observations of progress, construction issues, safety, quality, and/or environmental for reporting to PM team.
Identification of potential scope gaps on front end of projects and during construction execution, potential constructability or coordination issues, and potential alternative solutions to mitigate a potential issue with or improve on design/construction. Report findings to PM verbally and in writing to determine actional path forward and assist with closing out or running point on action.
Participate in project kickoff meetings and various construction meetings.
Support in pre-construction sequencing and outage planning development with the Program Management Team (PMT) and Outage Coordination Team (OCT).
Accompany PMs and escort visitors as needed to project sites as part of scoping or construction planning efforts to provide construction input and/or site escorting and access.
Develop and Lead Pre-Task Hazard Analysis briefings for site visits.
Perform weekly & monthly reporting of general construction progress, performance, quality, safety, and environmental observations.
Support the PMT and Construction Team with construction issues that may arise and assist in troubleshooting and reaching resolutions.
Monitor PMT compliance with the company Safety requirements and applicable requirements.
Support coordination efforts between the PMT, Construction Team, Contractors, and other functional areas as appropriate.
Participate in punch-list walkdowns, one-line verification walkdowns, pre-energization walkdowns and other checklist/verification walkdowns pre-, intra- and post- construction completion.
Requirements:
5+ Years Electrical T&D Field Construction Management experience overseeing and managing construction Safety, Quality, Scope, Cost, Production, Schedule, Site Logistics & Coordination, and Client Representative/Contractor Interfacing.
5+ Year Electrical T&D Construction Project Management Experience managing construction Safety, Quality, Prime/Subcontracts, Scope, Cost, Production, Schedule.
Knowledge in understanding and interpreting Substation, Transmission line, Telecom and System Protection construction and design
Industry knowledge and understanding of Safety and Quality for compliance, with the ability to apply Client requirements as needed.
Ability to establish, maintain and build on relationships with Client field and office personnel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate across different levels of management.
Proficient computer skills to navigate program databases, generate Microsoft documents, outage plans, presentations, emails, and locate various project information.
