What are you working toward?

Based on your work ethic, development and dedication to your role, with support from your local branch and job-site leadership, you will develop and strengthen your skill sets

We are seeking Outside Machinists to become part of our team!

Your responsibilities will include:

• Install, adjust, set and repair or replace various components like pumps, steering gears and propulsion machinery. Test or assist in testing of shipboard machinery.
• Perform general maintenance on the ship.
• Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers and other hand and power tools.
• Lay out passage holes on decks, bulkheads and other surfaces.
Requirements for this role include:
• Candidates must have at least 4 years of naval ship mechanical experience, preferably on fire suppression systems, damage control systems.
• Must have knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items for the position and trade.
• Able and willing to work in confined spaces, overhead structures or beneath machinery
