Please use the "e-mail roadtechs" link on the main menu. You will be taken to a form you can use to e-mail us.
Please make sure you use a valid e-mail address if you would like us to reply to you.
If you have your own web site, and you would like to add a link to Roadtechs.com like this one... Roadtechs.com
...just cut and paste the following code into your page... <a href="http://www.roadtechs.com/">Roadtechs.com</a>
Our clients expect us to run a well organized, reliable and professional web site. In order for us to be the web site
that our clients expect, we cannot allow derogatory or inflammatory posts on this site. Any post on this site that does
not meet the requirements of the Roadtechs.com user agreement will
be immediately deleted and the poster runs the risk of being blocked from the site.
If you see a job you think you might be interested in, and qualified for, open the original
job post (not the replies) and follow the instructions in the post.
If there are no instructions on how to apply, then click on the e-mail link in the upper
left-hand corner of the post (normally the poster's name or their shop name). Introduce
yourself in the e-mail as you would any cover letter and then either attach your resume
to the e-mail, or include it in the body. Make sure you spell check your documents, then
send them off.
If you get a bad e-mail address, see if you can locate a good address in the Shops page.
If you still can't find a good e-mail address, then create a new post requesting a corrected
e-mail address. Please be courteous, these are prospective employers and we all make mistakes.
In the internet era, where a single user can send hundreds of resumes a day to various recruiters,
and where a recruiter's job posting on Roadtechs.com may receive hundreds of resumes for a particular
job, DO NOT expect that the recruiter will send you a resume receipt response or be updating you on
the status of your resume. If your e-mail to the recruiter did not bounce back to you, then the
recruiter has received your resume. Any follow-up postings on Roadtechs.com berating recruiters for
not "responding" to a users resume submission will be removed.
Yes, you can announce your availability for work on Roadtechs. We would appreciate it if you made
these types of posts in the forum and in the area in which you normally work (nuclear, petro, etc.)
Announcing your availability may only have limited success because most shops are using Roadtechs to
post jobs, not necessarily scanning for prospective employees.
Please review the types of posts that are allowed / not allowed above.
You are posting information on the internet and it will be indexed and searchable by the search engines.
If you do not want your name, address and phone number available to the entire internet, then do not post
personal information on the job boards. A valid email address is all you need to allow interested parties
to contact you.
From the Main menu, select your area (nuke, petro, etc.), then job board.
Click on the "add a post to the (area) job board" link.
The first field (required) asks if you are posting a job. If you are posting a job, even if you are not a shop,
click the "y" button; otherwise, click the "n" button.
Enter your name (required) in the name field.
Enter your email address (required) and make sure your email address is correct and properly formatted. If
you use poorly formatted email addresses, then the jobseeker's email program may not be able to send you a reply. The
only valid separator between email addresses is the semi-colon.
What good looks like:
jim@domain.xyz
jim@domain.xyz; bob@domain.xyz; wendy@domain.xyz
What bad looks like:
jim@www.domain.xyz (the www should not be included)
jim@domain.xyz,bob@domain.xyz (only semi-colons should be used as separators)
jim@domain.xyz:bob@domain.xyz (only semi-colons should be used as separators)
jim@domain.xyz(www.domain.xyz) (web addresses should not be included)
Enter a subject (required) for your post. This will appear on the Job Board main page as the title of your
post. Try to be descriptive and concise. Many people do not read the content of these posts. If you are looking
for work, and all your subject line says is "Instrument Tech", then you can expect to receive some resumes. Try
something like "Instrument Tech Looking for Work" instead.
Enter your message (required). Please do not include personal information in your posting; it can lead to
identity theft. If you are not a strong speller, try creating your message in your word processor, spell
check your work, and then copy it into a job board post. HTML code is not allowed in the message body.
If you want to add an external link to your post (your home page or maybe a cover letter), then fill in
the "optional link url" field. Use a standard web address like "www.myisp.com/mypage/coverletter.doc".
If you filled in the "optional link url", then you must fill in the "link title" field to give your link
a name in your post (the name others will click on to access your link).
You can use the "optional image url" to add an external graphic to your post. Use a standard web address
like "http://www.myisp.com/mypage/graphic.jpg".
You should always enter a password in the optional password box. Entering a password will allow you to edit
your post if you make a mistake. A password will also allow you to delete your own post if it is not a job or to
mark the position as filled for job posts.
Click in either the "I agree" or the "I do not agree" radio button. You must agree to the terms and conditions
of the Roadtechs.com User Agreement to post on this site. If you check the "I do not agree" radio button, your
information will not be posted.Verify your data, and then click the "post message" button. Only click the button once. If you don't see your
post when you go back to the job board, use your browser's "Refresh" or "Reload" button to reload the page.
If you click the button again, you will end up with multiple posts.
Non-job posts are automatically removed after 21 days. After a couple of weeks, non-job posts are no longer being read and
they dilute the function of the job boards, listing jobs.
The following types of posts will be removed from the Roadtechs.com site:
Any post that does not follow the GENERAL POLICIES and GUIDELINES of ROADTECHS Internet Web Site.
Replies with no significant content (i.e. just an e-mail address or phone number).
Third-party job posts. Only shops are allowed to post jobs on the Roadtechs.com site.
Non-job posts that are incorrectly marked as a job post (with [$$$]).
Spam.
Pornography.
Unauthorized advertisements.
Defamation of Utilities, Plants, Contract Shops, or contractors.
Posting of resumes within any Job Board or Forum; (links to your resume within Roadtechs.com or another site
are permitted).
Posts that do not pertain to the region they are posting in (ex. I&C Tech posting availability for a job in
the Electric Transmission and Distribution area).
Nope. You can't use HTML tags anywhere in the job boards. Due to abuse of the boards by spammers and
porn posters, we have elected to turn off HTML tags in our posts. If you want to show your graphic in
your post, there is a field for that purpose in the job board form. There is also a field for linking
to an external web page.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the
page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please click the "Reload" or "Refresh"
button on your browser and your post should appear.
Yes! assuming that you used a password when you originally posted.
Just find your post on the Job Board and click on the title to call up the post.

you cannot edit your own post and you will have to follow the instruction in the next section.
Enter your password and then click on the edit button.
Edit the post as required.
When edits are complete, click on the post message to save your changes. You
will be redirected to the main job board listing.
If you didn't use a password in your original post, or the edit link does not appear in
your post, you will have to use the e-mail link and have us (roadtechs.com) edit your post.
Use the "e-mail roadtechs" link from the main menu. When you are filling out the e-mail,
we are going to need to know:
If you can find the post you want changed, just copy the URL into your email with the content you want edited.
Or, you'll need to send us all of the following:
The region you posted in (nuclear, petro, computer, etc).
If you posted on the Job Board or the Forum.
The date and time of the post.
Your name as it appears on the post.
The content you want edited.
We'll usually get the post edited within 24 hours.
All non-job posts will be automatically deleted after 21 days. If you need the post deleted before the
21 day period is over, read on...
If you used a password when you originally created your non-job post:

delete button. If you are not sure, then use the Click here to cancel and return to the board.

your post, you will have to use the e-mail link and have us (roadtechs.com) edit your post.
Use the "e-mail roadtechs" link from the main menu. When you are filling out the e-mail,
we are going to need to know:
If you can find the post you want removed, just copy the URL into your email.

The date and time of the post.
Your name as it appears on the post.
We'll usually get the post removed within 24 hours.
Job posts are not normally deleted from the boards, they are marked as filled. We use this method as an
indication to our users of bord activity. When a job post is marked as filled, all contact information is removed
from the post and (Postion filled) is appended to the post title.
If you used a password when you originally posted:
Just find your post on the Job Board and click on the title to call up the post.
Look for the [Mark Postion as Filled] link and click on it. If the filled link is not there, then you
cannot indicate your position is no longer available and you will have to follow the instructions in the next section.
Enter your password and then click on the delete button.
You will be asked Are you sure you want to delete this post? If yes, then click on the
delete button. If you are not sure, then use the Click here to cancel and return to the board.
If you didn't use a password in your original post, or the filled link does not appear in
your post, you will have to use the e-mail link and have us (roadtechs.com) mark your post as filled.

The Post Boxes are a way for the users of Roadtechs to post their contact information and skills on the
Roadtechs site. The Post Box entries are managed entirely by the user, so new additions and changes show up

(nuclear, petro, etc.), then post box.
Enter your last name in the "Or, search for a last name:" box and click the submit button.
From the search results page, find your entry and note how your last name and e-mail address are entered.

If your e-mail address has changed since you made the original Post Box entry, you will need to contact us via the
e-mail link in the main menu and let us know that you want to update your post box and your e-mail address has
changed. Please include your last name, your old e-mail address and your new e-mail address in the e-mail you send us.
To prevent post box information from becoming "stale" we have set an expiration date of six (6)
months for all post box entries. When a post box entry "expires" it cannot be found using the normal
post box searches. To prevent your post box entry from expiring, just go into your profile (see
Edit your Post Box entry above) and make sure all of your information is still current.
When you submit your data, your expiration date will be reset for another six (6) months.
No, information stored in the Post Boxes is NOT secure. The Post Box system was set up to be an area where
contract workers could share contact information between each other and with the shops that hire them. We have
tried to make it difficult for spammers to harvest the information by keeping the data in a database and only
allowing one contact screen to be displayed at a time.
The Lodging and For Sale or Trade areas are available for the use of Roadtechs.com users and clients. Registration
is required, but the service is free. Registration information is only used to provide you with access to your
posts. Posts must be approved by Roadtechs.com staff before they go "on line". Most posts will be approved within
one working day. If we have a problem with your post, we will contact you.
